Plain packs: Survey of police officers

As The Sun reports (paywall), a survey of 500 police officers has found that 82 per cent of them think that plain packaging will make it easier to manufacture and sell counterfeit cigarettes. The majority of them think it will lead to kids turning to the illicit trade and two-thirds think the government will end up losing more money to the black market.

But what do serving police officers know, eh? If you want to know if plain packaging is good idea you've got to ask leading questions to a handful of school children. It's the tobacco control way.

It won't be one of the laws included in the queen's speech? Believe it when we see it.
