Off t'India

The sharpest eyed amongst you may have noticed the GTNF logo that has resided on this blog for the last few months. This is for the Global Tobacco Networking Forum, an event organised by Tobacco Reporter which is about to begin in Bangalore, India.

And that's where I'll be going tomorrow to give a speech about the anti-smoking movement. A full list of speakers is here, and includes Michael Siegel (The Rest of the Story), Simon Clark (FOREST, Taking Liberties), Mick Hume (Spiked), Mark Littlewood (Institute of Economic Affairs), Patrick Basham (Democracy Institute), Carl Phillips (Ep-ology), Jeff Stier (American Council on Science and Health), and many more.

After showing my face there, my good lady wife and I will be looking for a place free from torrential rain, athletics and religious violence for a holiday. So, until October 26th, this is au revoir. If you send me an e-mail, you'll know why I reply even more slowly than usual.

But I'll still be here in spirit and have set up various articles from the last couple of years to go online every few days. So don't go far and I'll be back blogging in person at the end of the month.

Cheeri-bye!

  4. All the best, Chris.

Hope someone mentions that RIP (fire safe) cigarettes can produce immediate symptoms in smokers. They were never properly tested on consumers. Yet, they were made mandatory in numerous countries. And no-one seems to want to know anything about it now, including tobacco companies.
