Fish. Barrel. Gun.

OK, it's a cheap shot but Daily Mail hack Jan Moir really has brought this on herself:

Want to stub out smoking? Put Kate's mug on every pack

Plans for selling brands in plain packets unblemished by alluring brand logos have also been mooted — but I have a better suggestion.

If Kate Moss carries on smoking her good looks away, perhaps they should put a picture of her kippered Croydon pram face on the front of every packet?

Kate Moss

Jan Moir

Don't fancy yours much.

From the DoH "consider whether the internet is being used to promote tobacco to young people in the UK and, if so, examine what more can be done on a global level".

Sounds like more excuses for internet control and censorship. I doubt "the internet is being used" because young people will promote it among themselves irregardless of on or off the internet and if they decide to censor out words such as "smoking", "tobacco", "fags", and so on then the kids will just dream up some code words to suffice.

It's a form of youthful rebellion and that's what the state can't tolerate, is people who grow up to think on their own and demand autonomy from state interference, that is why they made smoking bans, for control.

I have resisted all coercion to quit smoking thus far. But, in a queasy moment, it dawned on me that if I saw Jan’s gob plastered all over cigarette packs, I could become an ex-smoker instantaneously (and that’s saying something). And, I think the photo of Jan in question, that you have obviously acquired from Jan’s PR agent, is a most flattering one, taken after considerable, painstaking make-up.

A cigarette pack blemished by Jan.

Jan must have smoked a lot in her youth.

Fish. Barrel. Gun.

That’s what brainwashing does. The hatred that comes by indoctrination overrides all (including sensibility). It has you walking – nay, running - straight into the wall.

Cheap shot right enough but worth its weight in gold. :)

but worth its weight in gold.

Certainly a double entendre in this case.

Jan Moir said to me the other day, "I am fat, ugly, have three chins and mousy hair". I replied, "Yes, but your eyesight is alright".

Game over. Snowdon wins at internet today.

I agree with Jan, pictures of Kate Moss on my fag packets is a great idea.

It is time fat was denormalised, fat people should be banned from having their photos taken and most certainly banned from public consumption. Think of all the kiddies who view Jan as a role model, they will be forever in the cooky jar desperate the pile on an extra chin or three. Don't do it kids, being fat and ugly with stringy hair will not make you an intelligent journalist.

I don't care how fat and ugly Jan Moir is, she insulted Kate Moss (my fave super model) and now must die.

I pity the baby elephant made to sit on Jan Moir's face...did a good job though!

Bigoted, yes. Ugly, yes. lacking judgement, yes - and a thousand other traits in your drive to be controversial - a feature you confuse with skilled journalism. Try a change of tack - read Simon Heffer, Richard Littlejohn, Tom Utley, or any journalist who can string a literate sentence together.
What exactly is "a strata"Jan? J(just read in your 'apologies' blog.) Shall I explain the difference between singular and plural articles and nouns?
